Stay Safe at Home - Family Safety Tips - COVID 19

Each year The Royal Society of Prevention for Accidents (ROSPA) promotes the safety of children in the home during Family Safety Week. This year the campaign runs from 30 March – 3 April 202. The key message is that accidents in the home are preventable when the correct measures are in place and so we would ultimately hope to keep our under 5’s safe and to avoid further burdening A&E and NHS staff as a result of accidents in the home.

ROSPA reports that “every year many thousands of children are permanently disabled or disfigured and it is the under 5’s who are most at risk.”

During the coronavirus pandemic, when families are spending much more time at home, it is of greatest importance that we are extra vigilant.

Attached is a ‘Stay Safe At Home’ Top Tips Circular for sharing with those of you in touch with families and some activity resources that can be shared with parents. A number of activity sheets are also provided for children.
